What products are not permitted for sale or import?

Below you can find a list of the products that are not permitted for sale (those we do not allow to be offered nor sold on Mercado Libre in any capacity), not permitted for import or with restrictions (those that you can’t offer or sell specifically in one or another country).

Remember that all products in Mercado Libre must comply with the laws and regulations of each country, as well as our policies.

Therefore, whether you are selling through Full or Direct-to-consumer logistics, you have to comply with our prohibited product policies and refrain from offering any of these products in Mercado Libre to prevent: 

  • Your stock being rejected at our warehouse, which can lead to extra costs and your units being at risk of discard.
  • Penalties being applied to your listings or your account, which may lead to your listings becoming permanently inactive or your partial, temporary, or permanent suspension to sell on Mercado Libre.

Please make sure to review the prohibitions according to the countries/marketplaces you are operating in. Keep in mind that these may change as required by local authorities.
