What are the legal and regulatory requirements for selling?

Please find below the legal and regulatory requirements that sellers must comply with in accordance with the policies of Mercado Libre and each destination country.

Sellers must be: 

• Responsible for the legality and legitimacy of the items they offer,
• Compliant with all regulatory obligations,
• Owners of the necessary authorizations and/or permits that applicable regulations for the sale of the offered products may require, 
• Certain the content of their packages* complies with customs regulations and import requirements of each country. Products retained in customs won’t be returned to origin since an export process is needed. 

*This includes any content through which you offer products or services in different sections of the platform, including listings, clips, ads, account details, messaging channels, questions/answers, and opinions, among others.
