Mercado Libre's reputation system reflects the quality of the support provided by the sellers and the products sold, allowing us to differentiate their behavior within the platform.

It is based on data related to their activity in the marketplace and is subject to the rules of this Appendix.

How it is calculated

Reputation is updated automatically and is based on objective parameters. Mercado Libre does not intervene in its development. For its calculation, some objective data is taken into account, such as the number of complaints initiated by buyers, delays in shipping the products when using Mercado Envíos logistics, the number of sales, as well as the cancellation of orders. Thermometer

Reputation is measured as a thermometer, as long as you have made enough sales to calculate it. 
According to your reputation, a color will be assigned depending on:

  • Quality of the support provided: the lowest percentage of complaints and cancellations in its sales. And the highest number of on-time deliveries when using Mercado Envíos, will improve your reputation.
  • Number of sales: transactional volume and a higher number of successfully completed transactions in the period will be used to calculate reputation.

The objective parameters may reflect not only the general quality of the support provided by the people who sell in Mercado Libre but also the individual performance of the sellers regarding each of the products listed.

Shopping Experience

Mercado Libre will provide sellers with an indicator regarding the shopping experience they are offering for each of their listings, in order for them to identify improvement opportunities and provide better support for their buyers. 

The indicator can determine if the shopping experience performance of a listing is good, regular, or poor, based on objective parameters that measure behaviors and information provided by their buyers. For more details on this calculation, you can visit our Help Center. 

In case a listing offers a regular or poor shopping experience, Mercado Libre may reduce the exposure of the listing in search results, pause it, or permanently inactivate it.
