RFC Introduction - LIDO CONSULTING

Are you a Mercado Libre seller listing your products in Mexico? Keep in mind these recommendations to complete your RFC process correctly.

From June 1, 2020,  the Mexican government has introduced a new fiscal law,  therefore, Mercado Libre recommends all its sellers to be aware of and comply with the local regulations in force. This includes, providing a valid RFC ID to Mercado Libre, in the following cases:

  • If you are a non-Mexican resident company with an online sales point or inventory in Mexico.
  • If you have an RFC ID and are a registered entity/corporate seller (legal person).

To assist you in complying with these regulations, we offer professional guidance on:

  • Structure your Mexican legal entity
  • Register and obtain an RFC
  • Provide you with timely advice on the subject

💡Keep in mind

Mercado Libre does not issue invoices in the name of third parties, even if we've sent the product.  However, we recommend that as part of the seller's fiscal responsibilities, you issue your invoices for each sale made, directly in the SAT portal or the tax agency of your choice, when required.

We hope this information has helped you understand the new tax regulations in Mexico. Please follow the policy, update your RFC identification number as soon as possible, and continue to sell on Mercado Libre with confidence!
