How do I set my local return address

Learn how to set up your Local Return Address, allowing you to comply with local regulations and build a reputable brand presence.

A Local Return Address (LRA) is a physical address within the country where the seller lists their products. This address serves as the destination for returns initiated by customers.

Having a local return address is essential for customer satisfaction, compliance with local regulations, cost efficiency, and building a reputable brand presence. It simplifies the return process and boosts customer trust and loyalty.

Steps to Set Up a Local Return Address

  1. Access Selling Preferences: On your Global Selling account main menu, click on Settings > Selling Preferences.
  2. Choose the Site and Logistics Method:
  • Direct to Consumer: This logistics uses partnered carriers for product shipping. A shipping label will be generated with your local return address when a buyer initiates a return process.
  • Fulfillment: This Mercado Envios Full service handles storage and manages returned packages. If you operate under this logistic, ensure your Local Return Address is added, if you do not have one setup, your returned product(s) will be sent to a Mercado Libre warehouse, where you can schedule a pickup. Failure to collect the items within 20 days may result in a donation or destruction.
  1. Click on  "Add return address."
  2. Provide the required information accurately and then "Save” the changes.

💡Important

In some cases, sellers may not have a Local Return Address for every country of operation. In such instances, we have you covered! Refer to this list of suppliers provided by Mercado Libre.
