What’s the difference between partial and total refund?
These are the differences between the refund options you can offer to your buyers to resolve a complaint:
Total refund | Partial refund |
You’ll refund the total amount of the order. |
You can choose what percentage of the order to offer as a refund. |
The complaint will close, and your reputation will no longer be affected. |
Once the complaint is closed, your reputation won't longer be affected. |
In either case, you can offer it only once, and the buyer will keep the product.
When is it convenient to offer a partial refund?
Offering a partial refund to the buyer can be an effective solution to a complaint, especially when:
- The product has missing parts or accessories.
- The product has a minor fault or defect.
- The product is slightly different from what the buyer chose.
