Shipping fees based on declared and validated dimensions
How does it work?
Shipping fees are charged according to the gross weight of every order you dispatch, and this is how it works:
- You receive an estimated shipping fee based on the declared dimensions of an item when you list it.
- Every time you dispatch an order, we weigh and measure your shipment, and then the listing’s dimensions and shipping fees are updated (if we find differences with the information you declared).
- You can confirm the final shipping fee in each Order detail and Global Payments.
- We update the dimensions of each item, so you don’t have to update it manually.
Keep in mind that you’ll find new terms related to the new experience:
Gross weight | The gross weight you stated on your listing. It isn't validated by Mercado Libre or if it didn't have any differences after the validation. |
Updated package weight | The updated gross weight on your listings, is after we weigh your package once each order is dispatched. |
Shipping fee/Cost based on gross weight | Estimated shipping fee based on the gross weight stated on the listing. |
Additional shipping fee/Surplus on updated gross weight |
Final charge based on the differences we found when validating your shipment’s gross weight. It is charged when the order belongs to a different weight range. If there aren’t any differences between the declared and validated dimensions you won’t incur additional charges. |
Reimbursement/Partial reimbursement |
If the listed gross weight is higher than the updated gross weight, you will receive a pay back of the difference between charge based on the gross weight of the listing and the charge based on the order. |
