Which are the restricted products for sale or import?

Below you can find a list of restricted products for sale (those not allowed to be offered nor sold on Mercado Libre in any capacity) and restricted products for import (those not allowed to be offered or sold to buyers through international drop shipping).

All products in Mercado Libre must comply with the laws and regulations of each country, as well as with our policies. Sellers are solely responsible for the legality and legitimacy of the items they offer,  must comply with all regulatory obligations, and have the necessary authorizations and/or permits that applicable regulations for the sale of the offered products may require. 

Failure to meet these standards will result in rejected packages at the Warehouse, leading to extra costs you must bear.

Also, make sure your content* complies with customs regulations and import requirements of each country. Products retained in Customs won’t be returned to origin since an export process is needed.

It is important to refrain from offering any of these products in Mercado Libre to ensure compliance with our policies and legal regulations, as well as to avoid penalties to your product listings and user account.

*This includes any content through which you offer products or services in different sections of the platform, using listings, clips, ads, account details, messaging channels, questions/answers, and opinions, among others.

Please make sure to review the restrictions according to the country/marketplace you are active in. Prohibitions may change as stated by local authorities.

Under IATA (International Air Transport Association) regulations, products with strong magnetic fields will be rejected at our Warehouse. The IATA stipulates the following: "The maximum magnetic field strength at 2.1 m (7ft) is below 0.159 A/m (0.002 gauss) and causes no significant compass deflection (less than 0.5 degree)."
